INDIA – A mystical land
“strength of India lies in knowledge of mathematics & resilience of its people”
2800 B.C.-1300 B.C.: one of the oldest civilization of this world is known as Harrapa in the Indus River Valley … it is how India, the country, gets its name (from Indus) … the Indus cities were connected with rural, agricultural communities and mining areas through trade system … people used to pack animals, river boats and bullock carts for transporting various commodities like cotton lumber, grain, livestock & other food material … a highly standardized system of weights was used to control trade and also for collecting taxes … in addition to commodities, other elements of trade were beads, ornaments, bangles & metal tools.
5000 years later, a trader is born in India who aims to crack the coconut & change everything that you know (or don’t know) about trading … & this [website] is just the beginning ..!
the most over-rated thing about Indian culture ..?
now that i have shared two most beautiful things about India, i have to talk about one which is most over-rated … & it is arranged marriages .. as i talk to people from various cultures, the topic almost invariably comes up .. first of all, these are not as prevalent as they were even 30 years ago … i understand that a marriage is a tough ventures, but arranged is simply a stupid venture … or let me spice it bit more – it’s a dead venture … & if it is working for you — be happy and enjoy.
in an arranged marriage, if it works out, then she made it work & if it doesn’t then it’s all parents’ or husband’s fault … obviously, when parents find someone for you, they will look from their own perspective, & not necessarily yours , which they may assume that you don’t have one … & their thinking is a generation old as they know what has worked in last generation, although the parents would not enforce a marriage on their daughter … the challenge is that the girl has her own dreams and desires & there is nothing wrong in that, but if those dreams & desires are not met, the marriage is dead even before it begins … & for sure, she is not going to hold herself accountable for that … although the marriage may survive long on calendar basis, but most of them are dead and only exist for other reasons – children, finances, etc.
the worst part of this tradition for girls is that their parents prepare them for the D-day depriving them all the happiness that they deserve, which in turn creates a deficit & high expectations from the boy … & if that deficit is not covered in post-marriage situation, it transforms into depression in her due to unmatched expectations.
tradition of arranged marriage has been followed long in Indian history as well as other parts of the World … however, it main purpose was to build an alliance between two kingdoms & later between two big business ventures … it was designed specifically in the interest of the boy or girl .. OTOH, the love marriages have been common in Indian history as well as mythology & they were quite successful.
the caste system in India …
It seems like most people in west have read somewhere about it, & have built a negative connotation in their head.
the old caste system, which was used in Ancient India for thousands of years, simply categorized people based on their profession:
Brahmins: teachers & priests
Shatriyas: fighters in army & politicians
Vaishyas: the business community (myself included) and
Shudras: people who work for others doing various jobs (like employees is modern corporate world)
so, i don’t see anything wrong in the system, although this categorization is no longer followed in India … further, the society is structured in hierarchy so everyone gets respect based on their profession; i.e. Brahmans are at the top & workers are at the bottom … still nothing wrong here as don’t you think teachers should get the most respect in any society .. & by design the army and cops have muscle power & business man have financial power so they get the 2nd & 3rd place, and workers get the last – isn’t how any other modern society is structured ..?
but human mind a creative thing, some people started using the system for political advantages:
1. to divide the people based on their caste
2. to fetch rights and deny others based on their caste
but that’s the creation of political minds, & they would do whatever is needed to build an advantage
OR other way around, post partition of India that people who belong to lower caste exploit it to secure jobs in government positions and getting admissions in schools under quota – so both parties use it one way or other ..!
[FYI. for these reasons, i no longer use my last name].
so, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with caste system .. in fact, it was an advanced system used in ancient India in which people were known based on their profession!
religious intolerance in India [Apr 2022] ..?
things are starting to look better in India since BJP/Modi govt. came in power …
with that, folks who had free ride in last 70 years (since independence) feel the pressure, to which some of the intellectuals (bloody lefties) and the bollywood types (rich but uneducated) call a change in religious intolerance … but what these stupid idiots don’t realize is that India as a country & Hinduism as a religion are the most tolerant in nature … we are taught to give 100% to our guests, we let the tyrants live in our home … and now that we ask them to stop doing stupid things like, not using loudspeakers starting early in the morning, to public land encroachment needs to be curtailed … the lefties are right that religious intolerance is coming down, as a patience of those who follow Hinduism is waning .. supported by Congress govt., the lefties could do whatever the hell they wanted in the name of secularism and tolerance, but all this is starting to change to run the country per constitution.
India’s partition was a political bubble, 50 years in making … got burst in 1947
& if Gandhi didn’t see it, then he must be blind & incompetent behind those funny round glasses, here is why?
1885: Indian National Congress was formed, which was taken over by Gandhi & Nehru for their personal agenda.
1906: The Muslim League was founded to safeguard the rights of Indian Muslims. Led by Jinnha, Pakistan’s first PM, the league was encouraged by the British and was generally favorable to their rule, but the organization later joined Indian Congress under Gandhi’s leadership but never dissolved itself.
1914: Gandhi leaves South Africa as a failed lawyer & returns to India.
1915: Lord Chelmsford, the then Viceroy of India, invited Gandhi to Delhi at a War Conference. In order to gain the trust of the empire, Gandhi agreed to move people to enlist in the army for WWI.
1919-1924: The Caliphate Movement was a major pan-Islamic movement started to save the Ottoman Empire and it extended to India against the British power .. funny thing is, as i learned history in my school days, it was (re)named as Khilafat Andolan, which was led in India by the brothers Shaukat and Muḥammad Alī and by Abul Kalam Azad. The leaders joined forces with Gandhi although their main agenda was a Muslim empire .. the Andolan was marketed differently (courtesy of Gandhi, as Khilafat against British) in India – more on Gandhi’s Marketing later ..!
1925: Seeing these organization, which were focused by Muslims, in 1925 RSS was founded by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, a doctor in the city of Nagpur, British India to protect the rights of Hindus. Dr. Hedgewar was part of Congress but didn’t agree to their policies, specifically supporting the Khilafat movement.
1939: Subhash Chandra Bose was ousted from Congress as he was becoming an alternate to Gandhi, who supposedly had no political aspirations, except to make Nehru as India’s prime-minister.. if Hindu leaders didn’t like Gandhi & Nehru, how can one expect Muslim leaders to accept Gandhi & Nehru’s leadership.
1942: Gandhi started Quit India movement, which failed miserably. The Congress leadership was cut off from the rest of the world for over three years. Gandhi had no success to show and was expecting other leaders to follow him.
1945-1947: post WWII, British lost their influence, even though the aligned powers won the war; due to their won economic problems, British had no interest in ruling India and were ready to give up, but the opportunist like Gandhi and Nehru delayed the process to bring Jinha and others in line, to which they failed miserably, and a partitioned India got freedom from British, but got stuck in the hands of lefties for 70 years.
Gandhi & Nehru – lethal combination of charming, but incompetent lawyers
but Nehru never had to practice, as he belonged to a seriously rich family .. his father Motilal Nehru was a successful lawyer & had associations with British govt. & Gandhi had failed practice in India and then in South Africa .. however, Gandhi was one of the greatest marketer of himself (watch the movie Gandhi which will prove this point .. how the World used to know all about his Andolans / campaigns, but he was a disaster for India … he claimed to teach peace to the world but he brought or taught nothing about peace in India … his role / commitment was to bring independence to India and to negotiate peace between Nehru & Jinha … & he failed miserably in both the goals … so badly that he went in isolation and fasting … what a concept – to negotiate using scary tactics of fasting ..!
let me play a contrarian here: when British left India, it was divided among 565 princely states, which were independent in themselves but had individual treaties with British Govt. .. so the question arise, on whose behalf Gandhi & Nehru were fighting the India’s freedom .. for sure, not for those who lived in those princely states .. which means that they self-appointed Mafia, as being educated in England, they could speak in English, who took upon the opportunity first supporting British Govt in both WWI & WWII and then exploiting the situation that they are fighting for freedom, when British became weak after WWII and just about to leave the country .. no wonder any of the princes or even Jinha would not take them seriously … as they knew these jokers’ capabilities ..
technically, India didn’t get Independence from British on August 15, 1947, as claimed & celebrated in India and whose credit goes to Gandhi & Nehru, rather it’s simply a transfer of power given to Indian people – Nehru as PM of the country … moreover, Gandhi committed that he would never let the division of India, instead the country was divided into three when he was alive .. so he failed in both those goals ..!
separately, the division of India was mainly caused by the love triangle (like Bollywood movies) between Nehru, Jinha and Lady Mountbatten – the trio studied at Oxford at the same time … both men were after the same girl (which neither of them succeeded) and the prime-minister position of India … the division of India was the most unfortunate event in the Indian history that resulted into killing of masses … & Gandhi became the father of a [broken] nation ..!
India’s “partition” – the biggest failure of “Gandhi’s experiment on peace”
whenever a big events is described in history, first the leaders come up with tagline – like a marketing campaign and then fill in the story …
this is exactly what happened in 1947 … before India’s independence, there was a big section called British India and another 565 princely states which had independent relationship with British govt. and had good relationship with them .. so as transfer of power occurred from British to Indians, it was only for British India and for which the fight occurred between Hindus & Muslims … each wanting their autonomy … but what most people don’t realize that the country as we call India was a unification of those 565 states into so called India and then it was divided into say 3 section if we include East Pakistan (which became Bangladesh in 1971) as 3rd entity .. so, looking mathematically 565 + 1 = 566 parts turned into 3 .. so how do people call it a partition ? … rather, being a contrarian, i see it as unification (exactly opposite to what rest of the world thinks!) of the country .. India wasn’t one united nation, and that was the major reason for the invaders and then the British ruled in India in first place …
India’s “so called partition” was the biggest disaster in so called “the birth of a nation” .. mistakes like these take 70+ years to fix as the first action was taken by PM Modi to remove article 370 & 35A in Kashmir .. key point here is that Gandhi & Nehru had no qualification in politics or administration & when people at the top are unqualified, it takes years to fix those problem – whether it’s a nation or a corporation ..!
during India’s partition, between 200,000 to 1,000,000 people were killed & that too without any foreign country’s support … which means all those arms and forces and hatred was present in the system & Gandhi & Nehru were so complacent that they had no idea about the situation .. Gandhi used to say that he would not agree to partition and would die before it happens .. so, Nathuram Godse full-filled Gandhi’s wishes .. but it’s a contrarian’s view ..!
Gandhi – the most disillusioned & self-centered man … who was an expert to market himself
If you wanna hear truth about Gandhi …
