Nov 2014: trip to the bottom of The Grand Canyon – a journey of a lifetime
22 years ago, i visited the south rim of Grand Canyon and as i looked deep down the canyon and the Colorado river through my binoculars, i became curious about how it would feel at the bottom of the canyon … well, that curiosity is over as i traveled about 13.0 miles long journey down the canyon, where i rode a mule, for the very first time in my life, on a roughly 3ft wide, steep, curvy, cool & windy trail, and looking down a mile deep canyon (what a view, as the mule just decided to take a wider turn over edge and you can see all the way down … ooh!), crossing several points whose names were scarier than in real like ‘Oh Jesus corner,’ – telling you to remember your god & take a glimpse of heaven as you cross this point, switching from one mountain to another and that too at the top … later crossing a tunnel and a suspension bridge (circa 1920) over the Colorado river … touched the Colorado river at the bottom, and it is really wide & wild … are you still breathing ..?
